Our Life and Adventures

Cookin' With Gas

October 19, 2014

Many important things happened this weekend.  Dean continued working on the heating system, plumbing the boiler.  I painted the floors with a primer that will hopefully make them more adhesive when we go to glue the flooring down.  The stuff comes in gallon jugs, and has the color and consistency of pepto bismol, but without the pleasant smell.  One has to water it down 1 part to 4 parts water, and brush it on the floor.  About half way through the day, I got smart and picked up some knee pads.  We also began our process of winterizing the RV by closing up the tip out and covering the whole thing with a tarp.  We finished up the weekend by hooking up our new range.  We had to convert it to propane first, which took some doing, but then it was all blue flames!

The primer makes the floor all shiny.

I took a timelapse video of me painting the master bedroom floor.  Since I can't figure out how to embed the video into the webpage, you can access it here.  Let me know if it works.

Boiler on the bottom left, pump is the little black and yellow thing in the middle, red tank is the expansion tank to allow for changes in pressure, and the pipes on the right go up into the floor.  It isn't actually connected to the water heater, just happened to capture it in the photo.

Dean crawling around in the guts of the RV trying to find the tip out motor.

Before...

After.  All wrapped up just like a present.

Dean changing out pieces from natural gas to propane.

Pretty blue flames!
